Best Place to Reenact The Shawshank Redemption

The Mansfield Reformatory

During the fall, the local preservation society opens the decaying reformatory for all-night tours. For $50, you can wander through the entire prison until the break of dawn. They even throw in free pizza for the freaks who come out to try to photograph ghosts. Unfortunately, these paranormal investigators often overlook the coolest thing there: Tucked into a small room in the basement are some props built for The Shawshank Redemption, which was shot here. The sewage tunnel that Tim Robbins crawled through to escape the evil warden still sits where it was built. Nobody will watch the hours of video you claim show spirits of dead prisoners, but filming yourself in Shawshank's poop tunnel -- that's entertainment!
