Best Salsa Dancing for Pros

Belinda's

Most "salsa" nights at local clubs are falsely advertised. Sure, they'll play the occasional salsa song, but the heart of the mix is reggaeton, a cross between rap and merengue that's hard-grinding and mind-numbingly repetitive. Belinda's keeps it old-school. At this small, simple dance hall-ish bar in west Cleveland, Sammy DeLeon packs his 10-member orchestra onto the little stage and plays set after set of sweaty, high-flying salsa. Beginners stick safely to the middle of the floor, while top dancers -- including grandmothers in their 70s -- work the edges to amaze the crowd. To dance or to take it all in, Belinda's is Cleveland's salsa king.
