Valley Parkway, through the Rocky River Reservation
Valley Parkway, through the Rocky River Reservation From the Detroit Ave. entrance in Lakewood, south along Valley Parkway to Bagley Rd. in Berea, connecting with Mill Stream Run Reservation; www.clemetparks.com
The Rocky River Reservation is to Cleveland what Central Park is to New York. Follow a winding road through acres of scenic vistas that include shale cliffs and deep flood-plain forests. On any warm day, you'll find people fishing, playing catch, sunbathing with a good book -- anything but working. The reservation includes three golf courses, five ball fields, and the 13-mile Valley Parkway Trail. At night, drive slowly and keep an eye out for the many white-tailed deer that make the reservation their home.
