Lola Bistro

Culinary curmudgeons -- including those whiny gasbags who write in nationally circulated lifestyle magazines -- have been known to opine that dashing chef-owner Michael Symon and his restaurant, Lola, are just too precious for a blue-collar burg like Cleveland. That's fine: Let those backward boys continue to masticate their way through towering heaps of cabbage rolls and corned beef -- if it was good enough for Uncle Stash, it's good enough for them. On the other hand, if you wish to celebrate the fact that Cleveland's present-day culinary scene is more than pizza and doughnuts, this hip, sophisticated, and very contemporary bistro is where the party starts.
