Best Venue for Live Theater

Freedlander Theatre

When it's time to indulge in some Americana, there is no better way to do so than by hopping in the old gas buggy and whizzing past untold churches, contented cows, and rustic lawn ornaments until you find yourself on the inviting grounds of Wooster's Freedlander Theatre. Here, in this vintage '50s haven, dwells the Ohio Light Opera, the only American company dedicated to the sentimental and teary joys of operetta. If the lush romanticism of warbling, mustached dragoons and crinolined damsels weren't enough, this is the only theater with leg room ample enough to accommodate any John Wayne-sized he-man. It also has fabulous acoustics. Take Granny, and you're sure to be well rewarded at the reading of the will.
