Nothing beats the warm, soulful sound of vintage audio equipment, and no man knows that better than George Morris. That's why he's dedicated his life to building and refurbishing everything from 1960s tube-amp radios to 1930s speakers. His skill with antique radios has earned him a loyal mail-order base that stretches all the way to Japan. Last year, he finally opened his Akron store, the home of all things analog. As 1940s tunes play through a set of vintage speakers, you'll stroll through a lavish array of colorful Bakelite and wooden radios. The upstairs room and basement are filled with heaps of working tubes -- the backbone of yesterday's sound. The rest of the store is stocked with everything from tuners to record players and built-to-last brand names like Zenith, Westinghouse, and General Electric, at prices ranging from $50 to $5,000.
