Best West Side Expansion

Big Fun

It's about time. For nearly 20 years west-siders have trekked all the way to the other side of town to pick up whoopee cushions, vintage Star Wars action figures and Wacky Packages at the much-loved Coventry Road toy store. Whether you're a geek who collects old-school Planet of the Apes toys, a kid who thinks itching powder is the coolest thing in the world or a middle-aged cubicle drone looking for a favorite childhood toy your parents sold for a quarter at a garage sale years ago, you'll likely find it at Big Fun's new west-side location, which opened in May near the Cleveland-Lakewood border. But there's still some room to grow. The last time we were there, we noticed about 15 barren inches in a corner crying out for a stack of oversized Superman comic books from the '70s.
