Beyond Outrage holds the distinction of being voted the "third best Japanese film of 2012" by the film magazine Kinema Junpo. A sequel to 2010's ultra-violent Outrage, the stylish gangster film has plenty going for it, including a torture scene involving baseballs. Writer-director Takeshi Kitano has a knack for dialogue too and the film features the same kind of witty dialogue you get in films like Die Hard and The Terminator. Good stuff. The movie makes its Cleveland premiere tonight at 6:45 at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. It shows again at 8:40 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $9. (Jeff Niesel)
