From the time that we’re toddlers, we’re told that reading is good for us. The more you read, the more you learn. But what do we really learn? And how does reading affect our language skills. That’s the topic of tonight’s talk at the Happy Dog as CWRU Associate Professor of Physics Harsh Mathur “What Can We Learn about Language by Reading Millions of Books?,” a lecture about his project of applying statistical physics to the study of language. Part of the Happy Dog’s Life, the Universe & Hot Dogs series, the talk begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. (Niesel)
