Brave Ulysses

When: Mon., June 16 2014
The James Joyce novel Ulysses is an impenetrable work of literature that has stumped even the most astute of literary critics. Written as a stream of consciousness, it’s a dense novel that’s beautifully written but hard to follow. It’s a tradition at Nighttown (and elsewhere) that every year about this time, a group gathers to read the thing and celebrate “Bloomsday,” a reference to an event that takes place in the novel. Tonight’s staged reading begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes a three-course Joycean themed dinner. Tickets are $75. (Niesel)
