Cleveland Celebrities Share Their Resolutions For 2011

Mark Nolan, WKYC-TV

I resolve to spend less time looking forward and back ... More time seeing here and now ...

"Contentment makes poor men rich; discontentment makes rich men poor." — Ben Franklin

"Life moves pretty fast ... If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." — Ferris Bueller

One of those has gotta get me through 2011!

Daniel Gibson, Cleveland Cavaliers

No matter how tough it gets, keep my head up and keep smiling. Be a great role model. And continue to be a better fiancé and father to my son.

Antawn Jamison, Cleveland Cavaliers

Learn how to cook.

Kimberly Gill, WEWS-TV

New Year's resolutions might work for some people, but they never last for me. To me, New Year's resolutions seem more like a trend than anything else. Of course, like a lot of people, I'd love to lose 25 pounds, stop eating fast food every day, and get more hours of sleep per night. But resolving to do those things starting January 1st means nothing. If I really want to do something, I put my mind to it no matter the date.

Hollie Strano, WKYC-TV

More sleep! This could be a challenge now that our morning show starts at 4:30 a.m. The Mark and Hollie Show starting at 4:30 a.m. cuz that's the way you like it, Cleveland!

More delish coffee! More creamer flavors! Did I mention sleep?

Most importantly, lots of time with family and friends, lots of smiles, happiness, and positive energy!

Now pass the coffee, please. And cheers to 2011!

Nicholas Megalis, singer-songwriter

To write more letters. When I was a child, I had pen pals and wrote letters constantly. When I wasn't writing letters, I was sending away for catalogs or writing to the newspaper. Writing a letter, licking an envelope, and sticking a stamp on it was the most rewarding thing in the world. Personally, I think e-mail kills the magic.

Steve Schimoler, chef-owner of Crop Bistro

To fantasize more about taking time off. At least then I can enjoy and accept the reality that it won't happen!!

Jonathan Bennett, chef at Moxie

On January 1 of last year I decided I was going to start running. I headed to my local running store, explained my situation — I don't exercise — and they set me up right: toasty winter running shoes and warm running pants.

I think I even made it to the end of my block before I realized how insane I was to think that a warm-blooded southern boy like me could handle running in 20 degrees. Needless to say, the shoes look great with a pair of Lucky Jeans, and the running pants are just right to lounge around the house in on a chilly morning. I resolve to never resolve again.
