Conya Doss has a voice that makes every day seem like Sunday morning: It's supple, lithe, and soothing as a warm bath. At times, though, this works against the young soul songstress, whose vocals can lull listeners right to sleep.

But on her second album, Doss adds a bit more spunk and sass to her formerly fragile funk. "Damn That" is a steamy kiss-off full of beauty and backbone, "Sweet Love (I Don't Know)" is a galvanized group sing-along where Doss's voice practically does backflips, and "Missing You" is a self-assured workup with a percolating beat. After a solid debut, Doss has turned her promise into poise.
