Encoder will play its first and perhaps only live show Tuesday -- with this lineup, at least. They'll open for VNV Nation and And One, as the only local band playing the main stage. Former 20goto10 vocalist Sara Eugene (pictured) and a backup singer will front for former UV programmer Bruno and industrial scene mainstay DJ Cable, who'll serve dark, make-you-sweat dance tracks. Expect the set to flow from sultry synth-pop to high-energy, hard-trance EBM. "I've been an admirer of Sara's vox for years," says Cable. "Her lyrics are pure poetry -- intelligent, interesting, unique. And her voice conveys these characteristics as well." Eugene is collaborating on the group's second CD.
