Bernie Kosar reignites rivalry with NFL nemesis from back in the day.

When Bernie Kosar's Cleveland Gladiators square off against John Elway's Colorado Crush tonight in an Arena Football League showdown at the Q, fans will probably flash back to the long-remembered fumble of 1988. And the two former QBs are bracing themselves for an avalanche of questions over how Browns running back Earnest Byner lost the ball, with 1:12 left in the game, to give the Denver Broncos the AFC championship. "I was recently talking to John, and we're trying to figure out how to handle this game between our teams," says Kosar. "He's like, 'Man, we're going to have to talk about that game again.' He's even tired of it. And I go, 'Dude! At least you won!'"Kosar has found his own winning streak at business. Last season, he bought into co-owner Jim Ferraro's Gladiators, which had been rooted in Las Vegas. After the squad posted a pitiful 2-14 record, the new business partners agreed to make changes. The most drastic difference was to relocate the team to Cleveland, so Kosar could take a hands-on approach to retool it. "With my personal situation, I wasn't going to be able to go to Vegas and turn this thing around. I said we should move this team to Cleveland," he says. "Personally, I don't think I'd be successful at it, if I was just kinda half doing it." Kickoff is at 7 tonight at Quicken Loans Arena, 100 Gateway Plaza. Tickets are $13 to $70.
