Singer-songwriter Kieran Kane is only playing a couple of shows in the U.S. on his current tour. He’ll be at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Fransciso and he’ll play a house party at Mechanic Street, the Ohio City home that hosts monthly concerts. Kane has performed/written songs for big-name singer-songwriters such as Emmy Lou Harris, Lucinda Williams and David Olney. His husky baritone is in fine form on last year’s twangy Live at the Bluebird. Based in Nashville, Kane is virtually unknown in the states but he’s hugely popular in Australia where he regularly plays big festivals and sells out small club shows. Tonight’s show starts at 8 and a donation of $15 is requested. Tickets can be purchased through the Mechanic Street website. (Niesel)
