Herman's House/ Bert Stern: Original Mad Man

When: Wed., July 3, 5:30 p.m. 2013
Price: $9
Tonight, the Cleveland Museum of Art hosts a good old-fashioned double feature. In the first film, Herman’s House, director Shannah Laumeister profiles Louisiana inmate Herman Wallace, a guy who spent almost 40 years in solitary confinement, but has started to work with visual artist Jackie Sumell to imagine what his dream house would look like. The second flick, Bert Stern: Original Mad Man, provides a profile of the influential New York photographer who worked with Stanley Kubrick, co-directed 1959’s Jazz on a Summer’s Day and took photos of sexy star Marilyn Monroe. Both films are making their local theatrical debuts and the program starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Museum of Art. (Jeff Niesel)
