After spending a few minutes talking to you about your likes and dislikes, Nick Nichols -- Mr. Motorcycle to his friends -- can hook you up with the bike of your dreams. Just like one of those highfalutin dating services. "I can tell by your mannerisms and body language what you're looking for," explains Nichols, who claims that he can pair you "with something you can ride every weekend that won't put you in peril."

Nichols, an industry-renowned product-tester, will dispense advice at this weekend's CycleWorld International Motorcycle Show, where more than 600 rides -- including dirt and street bikes, cruisers, and ATVs -- and specialists will convene. There's also a Kids' Cycle Center area for little hellions and something called the Ball of Steel, where cyclists will do crazy things on their bikes inside a 5,500-pound steel sphere.

But it's the aisles and aisles of new bikes from all the major manufacturers that rev up enthusiasts like Nichols, who's been riding for more than 50 years. "I enjoy motorcycles of all kinds," he says. "I have 14 of them, and I'm not prejudiced against any one." The motorcycle show runs from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the I-X Center, 6200 Riverside Drive. Admission is $12, $5 for kids; call 216-676-6000. -- Michael Gallucci

Wishful Thinking
The Metroparks has its summer fete . . . weather be damned!

SUN 1/30

You know what they say about Cleveland weather: If you don't like it, wait five minutes. Metroparks naturalist Kevin Metcalf, who's hosting Sunday's free July in January program, offers this variation: "You don't have to travel to experience the tropics and the arctic. Just stay put, and it all comes to you." There'll be marshmallows roasting, as well as some summer-themed games, like a water-balloon toss. Says Metcalf: "It's a good excuse to get out of the house and break up the routine." It happens from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at North Chagrin Nature Center, 3037 SOM Center Road in Mayfield Village; call 440-473-3370. -- Lucy McKernan
