July for the Tribe was a festival of victories and competitive series until a dismal showing against the Minnesota Twins. The Twinnies and their rotation of fledgling southpaw spot starters flummoxed the Indians’ offense but good.. Go figure. Today is a new day. It’s August after all, and the Indians begin the Battle of Ohio, an intrastate, interleague matchup that will pit our Indians against rivals in Cincinnati, the Ribbity Reds. All Hail Lord Chiz and the awakened bat of the slumbering Swish. The Tribe will play two in Cleveland (at 7:05 tonight and tomorrow) and then head down to Cincinnati for the remaining contests in their four-game series. It’s Sugardale Dollar Dog tomorrow night as well, so eat like 12 of them. Tickets start at $12. (Allard)
