On the last day of September, the Akron Art Museum celebrates the debut of the first exhibition of its fall season. Intersections includes work by six sculptors for whom drawing is an essential step in their creative process: Mark Fox, Anne Lindberg, Nathalie Miebach, John Newman, Judy Pfaff and Ursula von Rydingsvard. Each artists’ work is displayed in dedicated gallery spaces throughout the museum, offering insight into their interdisciplinary processes and unique ways they each work across media. Intersections: Artists Master Line and Space explores connections between three-dimensional sculptures and two-dimensional works on paper using non-traditional and alternative materials and processes. The Akron Art Museum hosts a reception for Intersections from 7:30 to 9 tonight. The reception includes an opportunity to meet the artists and music by DJ Naeno. Guests can create a 3D doodle. Intersections remains on view through Jan. 15, 2017. Free. (Usmani)
