Kent artist Teresa Bosko Carlin mines a childhood obsession with flowers and butterflies in her latest display, The Love Show, a pre-Valentine's Day pick now on view at North Water Street Gallery. "Both my grandmothers had beautiful gardens," she says. The exhibit features dozens of wire coat hangers draped in a rainbow of tulle to simulate a garden. Inside each "flower" is a small wire butterfly. "As I was working on this, I was listening to classical music, and I felt like I was skipping through a forest of fairies," she says (without cracking up, we might add). "I want people to come into this fantasy environment in which they feel innocence, beauty, and fluttering love." It runs through February 25 at the North Water Street Gallery, 257 North Water Street in Kent. It's open 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Admission is free; call 330-673-4970.
