The zoo turns the sportlights on ferocious felines.

When he was born eight months ago, Panja was a cuddly ball of fur. For today's Snow Leopard Day at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, the 15-pound feline is frisky and in a fightin' mood. "When Panja reached 10 pounds, he wasn't approachable anymore," says zoo spokeswoman Sue Allen. "The keepers don't mess with the big cats." Panja is kept in a wooden enclosure with his mother, Olga; in a nearby room, his dad, Boy, prowls the turf. Today, the leopards will be on display. Videos and zoo staff will also be available to clue you in on the big cats' diet, habitat, and behavior. Kids can even run and jump to see who can match the kitty's 30-foot leap.
