Fun fact: "There is no fun. This is war waged by the Bott Corporation."

Playing: Friday, November 25, at the Lime Spider, Akron

Why you should see him: "Because if you don't, Mechakong shall party on your face and several sweet bands shall have one less drunk to insult. It's all in honor of the Rubber City Records 10th-anniversary party, so come get drunk and tell Clint [Bott, Rubber City Records owner] you love him. He deserves it."
-- Mechakong, electronics

Band: Joe Rohan Band (www.joerohan.com)

Hometown: Cleveland

Sounds like: "Folky to frenzied singer-songwriter rock, like John Hiatt meets James Taylor, backed by the Black Crowes."

Band: Lefturn (www.lefturn.net)

Sounds like: "If Kiss was a punk-rock band and the drummer was Animal from The Muppets."

Fun fact: "Lefturn is a band based around brothers Justin and Joel Lefkowitz. Lefkowitz is where the name Lefturn came from."

Playing: Friday, November 25, at Peabody's

Why should you see them: "Because Lefturn proves that Cleveland is the home of rock and roll, with a stripped-down, no-bullshit, hard-rockin' set."
-- Joel Lefkowitz, drums

Fun fact: "Kate played Farm Aid both last year and this year for the 20th anniversary, with Dave Matthews, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, and John Mayer."

Playing: Saturday, November 26, at Tower City Center's Winterfest

Why you should see her: "You can come out and hear some great new music, and enjoy free entertainment and activities, not to mention the special deals on hotels, restaurants, lounges, and parking available that weekend. What more could you ask for?"
-- Kate Voegele, vocals and guitar
