Noel Cassidy Update

Noel Cassidy was in good spirits when he walked into a courtroom packed with thirty supporters last Thursday. But his optimism was given a serious reality check moments later, when Immigration Judge Elizabeth Hacker denied his petition for adjustment of residency status, dealing a serious blow to his bid to remain in the United States. Cassidy's divorce from Tish Jones of Cleveland Heights means he is still classified as an illegal alien, Hacker ruled, and subject to a 1991 deportation ruling. But there was a silver lining: Cassidy can remain in the U.S. while his legal team tries another last-ditch appeal. "This is by no means over," a lively Cassidy declared afterward. For a handsome Irishman, indeed not. Marriage, anyone?
