Darrin Bates and five fellow funnymen claim they're "Cleveland's craziest comics." Tonight they'll try to prove it at 3-C Comedy Spree
Bates stuffs his sets with "raunchy dick and Vagisil jokes," which oughta go down well with the free wings. Darrin, who doubles as the event's host, brings along his fraternal twin, Dave, to spin tunes between comics. "It's weird, because we look nothing
like each other," says Darrin. "Yet, people assume we have this kind of telepathy that we can finish each other's sentences. I'm short, fat, and lazy. I don't even want to finish my own
sentences. When he starts to talk, I finish his sandwich
Tonight's show features sets by Tim Cornett, Lee Honeycutt, Jason Lawhead, Mike Polk, and John Wellington. Bates promises to berate audience members during his set after he's done taking shots at his long-suffering sibling, whom he affectionately refers to as "gay." "I think it's my fault, because I came out feet first, and he came out head first," he says. "If you think about it, we were sixty-nining in the womb for nine months."
