Formed nearly 20 years ago by singer Jay Gordon, industrial rockers Orgy scored had their first hit in the late ’90s with a cover of New Order’s synth pop tune “New Monday.” The Orgy guys didn’t switch up the original rendition too much but they did make the song heavier and it caught on. But that was then and this is now, and industrial rock isn’t nearly as popular as it once was. Orgy has been through a major line-up shift and the only original member is now Gordon — and in order to retain the rights to the Orgy name, he’s had to fight off lawsuits from former members. The band is currently touring in support of a new EP. (Jeff Niesel)
