A decade later, VH-1 Classic's Metal Mania placed Overkill's classic cuts in heavy rotation, introducing a new generation to the turbulent thrasher "Elimination" and the singsong anthem "In Union We Stand." Unlike its peers on the program -- such monsters of rock as Anthrax, Metallica, and Slayer -- Overkill never changed its style. From its 1985 debut, Feel the Fire, to last year's ReliXIV, every album features a neon-green font on the cover, rapid-fire riffs, sprint-paced drums, and Blitz's signature stuck-pig squeal.
Fellow old-school act Prong, whose "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck" inspired Beavis and Butt-head to create a memorably tragicomic dance step, shares the bill.
