Practicing restorative yoga just before menstruation can decrease or eliminate cramping, bloating, headaches, and muscle tension, claims Toth.
This new-age approach to period management isnt limited to merely reducing physical stress and hormonally induced anger, says Toth. Its also about accepting change -- a difficult challenge for many who deal with everyday pressures. Yoga has a way of encouraging us to regard ourselves as sacred and valuable, she says.
