For over a decade now, Psychostick has promulgated a love for metal and a uniform sense of humor. For this tour, the band, will revisit its Christmas album, The Flesh-Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride. “We try to break that out every holiday season if we can,” says singer Rob “Rawrb” Kersey. “A lot of our fans really like that album just because it’s such a cynical and funny holiday album. You don’t see that that often. We’re tired of Christmas songs that start getting played right after Halloween and you have to hear for two solid months. We like aspects of the holidays but the songs have got to stop.” The band, which describes itself as “humor-core,” started back in 2000. Its mix of heavy riffs and jokes is unmatched, mainly because no one else has really tried, and has earned them acknowledgment in the hardcore scene with regular spots on Rockstar Mayhem Festival. A DIY band, Psychostick has stuck to their off-the-wall guns since the beginning, which means more anthems like “Beer!” and “Boobs in my Face” will likely still make it into the holiday show set list.
