You can't see his face, but you can hear him make his case for online radio.

As he spins tracks by Amber, Lucas Prata, and Sarah Atereth for his weekly Clubzone show on the web, DJ Greg Mack is a self-anointed crusader for both dance music and online broadcasting. Hear for yourself tonight, when he airs his show on www.nytesrealmradio.com from behind the bar at Cocktails Cleveland. "It has a place on the radio, because it's being ignored on FM," says Mack. "If terrestrial radio continues to be corporate and homogenized, dance music is going to die."Since January, when he first broadcast the show from — you ready? — his bedroom, Mack has expanded his mammoth collection of programmed tracks to include the likes of Basshunter's "Now You're Gone," Erika Jayne's "Stars," and Prata's "A Girl Like That." And despite a résumé that boasts gigs at nightspots like Jimmy's in the Flats, Slam Jams, and Wish, the 33-year-old Painesville native is pumped on the future of internet radio. "It's huge and it's gonna grow. Revenues have doubled. And with computer programs like Microsoft Sync, it allows you to access the internet through a wireless connection," says Mack. "That's gonna be huge, and I'm excited of the things to come." Mack spins from 8 to midnight tonight at Cocktails Cleveland, 9208 Detroit Avenue. Admission is free.
