Shane Vain & the Village Vandals

Born to Rock EP (MySpace.com/VillageVandals)

Remnants of Cheap Vinyl, Shock Cinema, and the Devilbirds, Shane Vain & the Village Vandals play punky power-trio rock and roll, heavy on the background harmonies. The loose, jangly "Bring It Back Again" filters the spirit of '78 glam through '50s sock-hop pop, and it's the first punk in years that'll make you want to dance. If it doesn't, rest assured that the closing cover of Elvis' "Burnin' Love" will. Though this is just an EP, it's a good-sized hunk of one.
