[sic] Stuff

When: Thu., Feb. 27 2014
A writer, an aspiring auctioneer and a rollercoaster theme song composer are neighbors in the Obie-winning play [sic]. Playwright Melissa James Gibson composes these three characters with oddly specific details beyond occupation that the reality of their situation hits close to home. Party games like "Could You Cloak Your Animosity A Little I Just Woke Up" and "Teacher's Doubts Panned Out" mix with remarkably hilarious dialog that show the group's loyalty and dependency on each other. Director Pandora Robertson concisely describes the play perfectly in the press release as "it's Beckett meets Seinfeld." Put on by the Cleveland theater company, Theater Ninjas, this offbeat comedy premieres tonight at 8 at 78th Street Studios. The show runs through March 15. Tickets range from $10 to $20 and can be purchased at sic.brownpapertickets.com. (Stoops)
