Something Horny

When: Thu., July 18, 6:30 p.m. 2013
Price: Free
When you name your band Horns and Things, you open up a world of marketing possibilities when it comes to using the band’s acronym: HAT. Ok, so maybe the acronym isn’t that interesting, but the band’s music is a different story. For more than 20 years, the guys in HAT have been blending funky rap with their signature jazz ensemble, so the band sounds a lot like what Cypress Hill would if they were much more lyrically tame and into playing wine bars. You can catch Horns and Things at the latest Downtown@Dusk event at the Akron Museum of Art. The museum will stay open until 9 p.m. for those who haven’t already checked out its latest exhibit. Admission to the event is free; Horns and Things take the stage at 6:30 p.m. (Jacob DeSmit)
