A formerly dry stretch of Fulton Road has acquired a new watering hole. April 30th marked the grand opening of The District, a new sports bar and grill located right next door to the Second District police station.
The space has undergone a complete facelift since it closed at the turn of the millennium. Known as BKS back in the 80s and 90s, the venue most recently enjoyed a brief stint as The Bottom Line, a place for cover bands to earn some beer money and get some exposure.
New owners Tony and Michelle Pratts have invested half a million bucks and 4 years of hard labor to create an establishment that improves the neighborhood by providing a safe, secure place to have a good time and unwind. Richly polished wood throughout and a state of the art sound system set the scene for food, drink, and games broadcast on at least 12 big-screen TVs. In a neighborhood best known for its "hole in the wall" joints, the result is a bar that exudes a polished vibe and welcoming ambiance. In addition to the usual well-stocked bar, the kitchen will crank out a lineup of Italian cuisine, including appetizers, home- made pizza, and Friday fish fries throughout the year. You can find them starting Saturday at 3463 Fulton Rd. in Cleveland. Hours are 11 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. daily; call 216-325-8185 for more info. — Terry Jozwiak
