The Evolution of the County-Funded Hilton Hotel: In Photos

The public first saw this photo earlier this summer, giving residents a sense of how the new hotel would impact the city's skyline. The plans have changed quite a bit since then.

Pope Bullock and Bob Neal of Atlanta-based architecture firm Cooper Carry present the latest plans for the Hilton hotel at the Nov. 12 meeting of Cuyahoga County Council.

This is how the hotel will look, facing Lakeside Avenue.

Cuyahoga County vacated its headquarters at Lakeside and Ontario early, allowing the hotel project to kick off in earnest.

The Cleveland Convention Center is the fulcrum of the project. It will be connected to the Hilton hotel via underground passageways.

The Global Center for Innovation is another spoke in the county-funded wheel here. It's located just south of where the hotel will be built.

There are privately-owned hotels all over downtown Cleveland, including the Marriott right across the street from the Med Mart.

As seen from Mall B, the Hilton will be built where the former HQ of Cuyahoga County now sits.
