Fashion designers unveil a week's worth of Cleveland-made fineries for the spring.

Step aside, New York and L.A. It's Northeast Ohio's turn to work the catwalk for Fashion Week Cleveland.An eight-day stretch of fashion shows and galas starts tonight with the admission-free Glam Party — for revelers in "fashion-forward" attire, who'll be dancing to spins by DJs GO and Impure (8 p.m. at La Dolce Vita, 12112 Mayfield Road). Tomorrow, Cleveland designers take off the wraps on "wearable art," with 20 models strutting the runway as spectators dine on seared tuna, smoked salmon, raspberry soup, and "fashion-passion" martinis (8 p.m. at Sammy's in the Flats, 1400 West 10th Street. Admission is $40). And Sunday is marked by "Celebrity Style Cleveland," as the party sails onto Lake Erie with a showcase of designs worn by local movers and shakers like Cavs Girls choreographer Vandana Patel, Miss Ohio Anna Melomud, and Velvet Tango Room owner Paulius Nasvytis (5:30 p.m. on the Nautica Queen, 1153 Main Avenue on the West Bank of the Flats. Tickets are $40).Between Monday and Friday, the things-to-do list ranges from screenings of several films, like Theatre de la Mode (7 p.m. Monday at Cleveland Public Theatre, 6405 Detroit Avenue. Tickets are $10) and Completely Dior (7 p.m. Thursday at Kent State Fashion Museum in Rockwell Hall in Kent. Admission is free). The week caps off on Saturday with the ultra-formal Cleveland Fashion 2008, as guests in tuxes and gowns gawk at designer Tad Boetcher's new line, tad b. Miss America Kirsten Haglund, of Michigan, will also sing for the fashionistas as part of the show (9 p.m. at the Galleria at Erieview, 1301 East Ninth Street. Tickets are $50).
