Tuba-tastic

The first-ever Tuba Christmas was performed in New York City's Rockefeller Center in 1974, but today this holiday tradition is practiced in hundreds of performance halls across the country, including Akron's very own E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall. Today, come celebrate the season with all your favorite holiday songs, performed live by the area's finest brass players who've decked out their instruments in lights, ornaments, and the like. Bring the kids, bring the grandparents, bring 'em all, because this event is notoriously fun for all ages, it's free. There are two shows, one at noon and one at 2:30 p.m. (McConnell)
