The kitchen crew at the Tavern Company in Cleveland Heights is getting a collective thumbs-up from patrons since they started the club's
$5 Burger & Beer Mondays. The deal is simple: Order a quarter-pound hamburger topped with your choice of one of five cheeses, and you get a plate of fries, dill pickle, and a 10-ounce draft of either Amstel, Guinness, Harp, Bass, Dortmunder, Dos Equis, or Labatt beer for a five-spot. Then you can chow down while watching the Tribe on the bar's four 42-inch high-def TVs. "It's a helluva a deal and a meal in itself," says Leslie Gaines, the bar's manager and bartender. "Sure, the whole menu is available on Mondays, but the majority of people get the burger. Why wouldn't you?" Eat up from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays at the Tavern Company, 2260 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights. Call 216-321-6001.
