Young Architects Exhibit at Children's Museum

When: May 10-Sept. 30 2012
Price: $7
In a world filled with over-educated espresso slingers, a parent could do worse than raising the next Frank Gehry or I.M. Pei. So while it might seem a little early to set wee Brittany or Jason on their career paths, it never hurts to expose the young’uns to a possible career in architecture. The Children’s Museum just made that a whole lot easier with its newest exhibit. Young Architects: Designing the Future aims at exposing the younger set to the basic principals behind design — math, physics, and mechanics — in a fun, experiential fashion. In practical terms, that means setting the wee ones loose among hundreds of assorted building blocks: all shapes, sizes, colors, and materials. Inspiration will be provided by photos of iconic buildings created by renowned architects like Gehry and others. The exhibit will be on display through September 30. The museum is open today and every day from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Admission is $7 for everyone age 1 and older. Find out more on the website.
