Chris Kyle IS a hero. Plain and simple.
Bring It On!? How on earth did that get onto a list with these other respectable films? Really makes me question my loyalty to art theater...
UHF is about a TV station....
"...it suggests to kids that superheroism isn't necessarily the exclusive province of Marvel Comics."
I'm not sure if Mr. Allard is aware, but this movie is based on Marvel characters (possible due to Disney acquiring Marvel in 2009).
I have not seen the movie, but I cannot help but to notice your extreme distaste for Mr. Franco. I hope that is not what is flavoring your review. Oh, that's right, yes it is.
People don't give Farscape the credit it deserves for being closely related to GOTG, even more so than Star Wars, in my opinion.
And it's Gamora, not Gamorah

Just saw The Signal and cannot stop thinking about it. Great must see movie with non stop genre bending excitement.
Excellent movie with great sound track..
I watched "Holy Mountain" when bored and choosing films by key words. I would have to say that without intense intellectual effort "Holy Mountain" does come off as a wacky surreal nonsensical film. I have failed to get anyone else to sit through it.
"The Holy Mountain" and "El Topo" are hardly "wacky stuff". They are widely considered cinematic masterpieces. This piece is a disservice to Jodorowsky and cinema in general. Really awful writing and flippant commentary.
It is simply NOT true that David Lynch's adaptation of "Dune" was "universally despised."
Sounds like a almost great torrent for those drunken 'maybe' it'll be good nights..
Since the flick was initially going to feature the Buffalo Bills - and then switched to the Cleveland Browns - it showed that any team could be slipped into a generic script that was OK'd by "The Shield". But - one thing is for sure - after making an acting comeback on the small screen, Costner is pitching blanks on the large one.
Many - if not all - of the scenes of Scarlett Johansson trying to lure men into the van were done with hidden cameras.....and the shocked guys on city streets quickly learning that they just may be appearing in a movie (with the proper waivers signed, sealed and delivered).
The more people say they don't give a fuck about anybody else, the more it sounds like they do.
Go Browns aside, is the movie worth seeing? Would you care about it as much if it were about the Titans or the Panthers or the Texans? Is it worth a non-fan's time and money? Or the time and money of the fan of another team? Discuss.
"Major League" and its sequel were about the Tribe, but appealed to MLB fans in other cities, and non-fans as well...they were huge. Is this one of that caliber? Somehow, I doubt it will be come a classic football movie. Or classic sports movie, period.
Chuckles the Clown
I dont even care what the rest of the country thinks about it. Last time I looked this was Cleveland Ohio the place where we dont give a good F&&k about what anyone thinks of us!!!!!! Go Browns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 1950's-styled "Sci-Fi" movie poster is outstanding.
