Simply the best. If you have seen them you need to! Much love Trop!
Sy Smith was given the long moniker: The Underground Queen of R&B and Soul.....to simplify things: That Voice, Incredible!
Phenomenal show. Two days later and I'm still flying high.
It's amazing that this is someone's job to research this and they are so incredibly out of touch with Cleveland's music scene. These bands are not the 10 most up and coming Cleveland bands. They just aren't. If this writer attended local shows, they would know. Just because general people, with general interests, will pay to stand around and watch a generally appealing band, doesn't mean it's representational of Cleveland's scene. It's almost offending.
Eddie Money has more talent in his little finger than Kenny has in his whole body.
Rock on Eddie!
This boring ass new Cleveland "alt rock" can take a hike. It reminds me of something that would play in an American eagle store.
Miss Melvis and Duo Decibel System?
I had never heard of any of these artists except for Ray Flannegan and the Authorities and Listen Little Man, which are legit choices. I gave each artist I never heard of at least a 2 song sample and personally thought almost none of it was any good.
I'm really tired of this all-pervasive formulaic indie-rock and indie-folk stuff that is very pop-sensitive, sometimes retro obsessed, and incredibly slick and non-threatening. It lacks any creative edge and doesn't rock. Quite a few of these artists seem to fall into that mold, otherwise I heard some pop-punk and a bit of rather insufferable garage rock.
Surprisingly, I found the one mentioned last (Marcus Alan Ward) to be the only one with some creative edge aside from Ray and Xela.
Where the heck is Brian Lisik and the Unfortunates? I'm sure this must have been an oversight. There is no way, after the album Curtis Interruptedus they aren't on this list.
The Rocksino really needs to let this fine musician and his band play the full 3 hour set, as all other venues on this tour have honored. Otherwise , there will likely be a lot of disgruntled fans and ticket buyers who paid top dollar to experience this unique performance. NOT GOOD BUSINESS!
The Rocksino needs to let this fine musician play his full 3 hour set this time. We'll give this venue another chance to make good. Otherwise, there may be many disgruntled ticket buyers who paid top dollar for this show. NOT GOOD VENUE BUSINESS!
Joel Lowitt speaks the truth. I'm very torn about whether or not I should go. What we got last year, musically, from Steve and his band was SO great, but then, finding out what was not played, that was being played elsewhere, was just a punch in the gut that still gets me riled up. All because the Rocksino forced the band to cut the show short. I've never returned to the venue, for music or gambling, since. Anyway, good info from Joel. it's buyer beware on this show because the promised 3 hours that's mentioned in the article is not likely to happen.
Note to Concert Goers for the 12/4/15 Steve Hackett show at the Hard Rock Rocksino. Last year's concert, which timed out around two and a half hours elsewhere, was reduced to 90 minutes at the Rocksino. Hackett Management indicated this was due to a time limit placed by the venue and thus they had to cut nearly an hour of material from their setlist. Beware, this tour's show is apparently running nearly 3 hours, so if the Rocksino management decrees the same time limit, fans will again be "treated" to half a show.
Genesis survived the loss of Peter Gabriel, but forever lost a brilliant impressionistic artistry when Steve Hackett exited the stage.....and the band became Two Guys & Phil Collins.
Love it! Can't wait to hear the new stuff!
Who is banging who that results in these guys keep getting coverage?
oh awesome a bearded white boy with a piano who can "exude confidence and maintain vulnerability"
