The Center for City Park Excellence agrees that Cleveland Metroparks is one of the truly outstanding park agencies in the country. Unfortunately, only 1,061 acres out of their 22,000 acres are actually in the city of Cleveland, and the city is what we score through ParkScore. (This Metroparks acreage within Cleveland is slated to increase with the transfer of the Lakefront Parks from the state.) We're committed to helping the city of Cleveland also get the park benefits that the suburbs now receive -- preferably within a 10-minute walking distance of every resident. Since greater Cleveland is a well-known example of "sprawl without growth," we think that a stronger urban park system can help reinvigorate the center of the region and promote infill, starting even with the neighborhoods around Public Square.

And when you sit on the patio at L'Albatros, you are serenaded by the musicians playing at the Barking Spider next door. And I think it's one of the most romantic patios in town.

Didn't they do this once before a few years ago but actually released the hat before they pulled it off the market for the same reason.

I love ideas like this!! Detroit has the Heidelberg Project, which turned abandoned homes into works of art. Why not turn a vacant lot into a child's book?

Becoming recently unemployed during the summer festival season is heartbreaking. This would allow me a great opportunity to experience some amazing live bands like Gogol Bordello and Japandroids without stressing the wallet...and a chance to hold a competition between my friends to determine which is the most deserving to be my festival companion.
