The gardens are a unique group of nationality gardens running through Rockefeller Park from Superior Avenue to St. Clair Avenue along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The Shakespeare Garden, initiated by the Daughters of the British Empire, was opened in 1916. Leo Weidenthal established this chain of gardens with the dedication of the Hebrew Garden in 1926.
