A major component of Big Creek Reservation is Big Creek Parkway, a refreshing alternative to the standard suburban commuter routes to Cleveland. The reservation runs parallel to Pearl Road from Valley Parkway to Brookpark Road and is located in Brooklyn, Parma, Parma Heights, Middleburg Heights, and Strongsville.

Brookside Reservation was one of Cleveland's oldest neighborhood parks before its acquisition by the Cleveland Metroparks in 1993. Still a recreation hub, the area now boasts baseball and football fields.

The gardens are a unique group of nationality gardens running through Rockefeller Park from Superior Avenue to St. Clair Avenue along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The Shakespeare Garden, initiated by the Daughters of the British Empire, was opened in 1916. Leo Weidenthal established this chain of gardens with the dedication of the Hebrew Garden in 1926.
Gordon Park has launch ramps with a large parking area for vehicles and trailers. The state park office is located here, as well as a picnic area. Anglers are attracted to the onshore fishing platforms. The adjacent Cleveland Electric & Illuminating Company's warm-water discharge improves winter catches of steelhead and salmon.
