The Walter C. Best Preserve features a 30-acre lake that attracts ducks, geese, grebes, mergansers, gulls, terns, and herons at various times of the year. More than 100 species of birds have been sighted on Best Preserve's 101 acres.

The Cleveland Metroparks' 15th reservation opened on Nov. 6, 2003, with 52 acres of trails, picnic pavilions, park arboretum, and play-area improvements.

The West Woods is a 900-acre park, featuring geological diversity that is appealing to the eye of the nature lover. Ansel's Cave features ledges made of Sharon conglomerate sandstone. Wetlands, second-growth forests, and reclaimed farm fields are also present on the property.

Throughout this 110-acre park, hemlock trees provide year-round greenery in ravines surrounded by a mature beech-maple forest; a lush growth of wildflowers carpets the woodlands in the spring. Along the forest margins, dense thickets and grapevine tangles provide cover for a variety of wildlife.
