The Tock has been around for as long as anyone can recall, and the food is probably better than you remember. Plenty of Greek and American favorites, but the St. Louis-style ribs are the star attraction.
Toast is a neighborhood bistro and wine bar shoehorned into a 100-year-old storefront in Gordon Square. Updated daily to best take advantage of the freshest provisions delivered from area farms, the small menu is a moving target. A chalkboard ticks off the day's toasts, cheeses and house-made charcuterie. Larger plates include flank steak, pork chops, and a mind-blowing crepe stuffed with smoked perch, pickled strawberry and dilly crème fraiche. Of course, the menu will be different when you get there.
