If your prom sucked, here's your chance to make it up. Or at least have a different kind of date night. Saturday, May 18, the Beachland Ballroom (15711 Waterloo Ave., 216-383-1124) hosts the Prom of Ages. The semi-formal bash will feature live prom-appropriate music by Cobra Verde, Afternoon Naps, and JJ Magazine.
"We're playing songs that might not exactly be prom songs, but they fit in with being between here and there," says CV singer-guitarist John Petkovic. "Some tunes: 'I'm Eighteen' by Alice Cooper. 'Just Like Heaven' by the Cure. 'Pretty in Pink' by the Psychedelic Furs. 'Teenage Kicks' by the Undertones. 'Different Drum' by Linda Rondstadt. 'Dreaming' by Blondie. It should be fun."
Doors open at 8:30. $5 with prom attire, $7 without.
