Cleveland celebrates Friday the 13th by paying tribute to World Middleweight boxing champ Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik. The 25-year-old Youngstown native will be at Jacobs Field, where it’s Kelly Pavlik Day. Following the Tribe game, McNulty’s Bier Market is hosting a free after-party.
Pavlik – who’s undefeated in 31 fights – will be at the brew bash, chatting up fans and posing for countless pics where he’ll fake-punch his photo companions. The Ghost Girls Dance Team will be there too. Drink specials, a DJ, and commemorative cards add to the fun.
The top-ranked World Boxing Council middleweight contender – who boasts 28 KOs -- faces Undisputed World Middleweight Champion Jermain Taylor on September 29. McNulty says the party is the official Cleveland rally for the fighter before he starts training for the bout. Just be sure you don’t get too drunk and start mouthing off. You wouldn’t want Kelly training on your face. --Michael Gallucci
