Mick Boogie captains the ship of hip-hop debauchery Saturday at Touch.
If you haven’t been to this party yet, you might believe LeBron is some type of French pastry. The every-last-Saturday “Classic Hip Hop Extravaganza” in the shoebox basement of Touch Supper Club (2710 Lorain Ave; 216.631.5200), spun by Mick Boogie and Terry Urban, is Cleveland at its finest, and yes, that means drunkest and danciest and sweatiest. But this isn’t frat-boys-gathered-around-a-mechanical-bull-praying-for-boobs hammered. This is practice-your-“Worm” sloshed. This is week-before-and-morning-after-be-damned giddiness: that’s right, this is Zack Reed drunkeness. But the man behind the funk, Boogie, explains it best: “Its the only hiphop party in the city that is actually real hiphop. No gimmicks, no nonsense, no bottle service. Great music, lots of dancing and fun for all.” As LL Cool J once said, Word is bond. -- Gus Garcia-Roberts
