Watch out, Lorain Avenue prostitutes: The nation’s most photographed call girl is coming to Cleveland State at 11 a.m. tomorrow to chat. We’re not talking about Heidi Fleiss. We’re talking about Chelsea Clinton.
Over the weekend, David Shuster, a reporter for MSNBC, apparently grew tired with the whole race/woman/who will win the presidency thing, and decided to talk about something more interesting: Chelsea…
Shuster noticed her increased appearances on her mother’s behalf, and asked whether the 27-year-old was “sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way.” (See video above.)
It was, to be certain, an unfortunate choice of words. Shuster quickly apologized. But under the sphinctification of American politics, you don’t get to have verbal slips. The incident allowed the Clinton campaign to go into Full Outrage Mode. Much harrumphing ensued, and Hillary threatened to pull out of MSNBC’s Ohio debate on February 26.
It was, of course, an idle threat. Hillary, a uniquely political species, doesn’t put anything above her own self-interests. That’s what makes her Hillary. And boycotting Ohio is definitely against her self-interests.
Be assured she’ll attend the Buckeye debate. And be assured that, no matter what Captain Hairdo says on talk TV, Chelsea will be at Cleveland State’s University Center Atrium, 2121 Euclid Avenue, tomorrow from 11-12 to brag up Mom. – Rebecca Meiser
