Money Where Your Mouth Is: Gunfire Getdown, at the Jigsaw this Friday

Posted By on Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 10:26 AM

The Scene Music Department disappeared three songs into Monday night’s Arcade Fire set, and we haven’t heard from ‘em since. So we hereby grant the floor to Gunfire Getdown, a Cleveland all-star band featuring members of Crash of ’59, the Nick Wolff Band, Switchblade Saints, Who Killed Marilyn, and Immolation Monks. They’ll explain why you should get to know them this weekend… Band: Gunfire Getdown Web: www.gunfiregetdown.com Hometown: Cleveland, Ohio Sounds like: “A jackhammer of love and despair in the pants of Rock Roll, moaning in pleasure somewhere in between the thighs of the Hives and Murder City Devils.” Fun fact: “Fresh out of the studio with the Mr. Wizard of R, Ryan Foltz - who recorded several songs to be included on the upcoming Cleveland’s Burning comp (clevelandsburning.com). Both songs (available for play on our MySpace page) feature Ryan on tambourine and organ.” Playing Where/When: 8 p.m. Friday, March 7th at the Jigsaw (5324 State Rd., Parma, 216-351-3869) http://www.myspace.com/jigsawsaloon, with Subourbon Son (a one band outfit), Rockabye Ransom, Humbucker, and Muttley Why you need to see them: “Cleveland’s sexiest all-man band with songs that are blank-core enough to rock the mens, and groovy enough to make the women’s dance.” -- Dave Perish, guitar
